I’m a seasoned Information Architect and UX leader with over 15 years of experience designing intuitive, scalable digital systems for enterprise, eCommerce, finance, and healthcare. My work has spanned everything from taxonomy design and content modeling to interaction flows, wireframes, and usability testing—delivering real-world impact like multimillion-dollar revenue increases and improved risk controls at companies like Citibank, BestBuy, and AOL. I started my career as an Information Architect with Aol’s eCommerce department, where I built wireframes and prototypes for Aol Shopping, Careers, Mobile, Personals, Auto, Travel, and Real Estate. My first project was to perform a card sort test for the Shopping channel, which led to a major taxonomy redesign. The vast and quickly changing data drove us to create an internal taxonomy management tool, which allowed easier and more accurate taxonomy maintenance.
At Citibank, I served as Lead UX Architect for the Risk and Controls Management Applications, where I was responsible for the full user experience lifecycle—from discovery through delivery. I designed and prototyped responsive web and mobile interfaces in Figma, integrating advanced plugins to streamline team workflows and design operations. My process was grounded in user research, including contextual inquiries, surveys, persona development, task flows, and user journey mapping. I led three rounds of usability
testing to validate the direction of new product designs, ensuring alignment with user needs and regulatory requirements. In addition, I supported decision-making by building data models and dashboards in Excel to visualize and communicate key insights. My work helped modernize Citi’s internal systems and improved the clarity, usability, and strategic alignment of critical risk applications. (As all my Citibank work was on a secure server, I am not able to share actual articfacts here. )
I first learned how to do usability testing during my studies at the University of Baltimore, then honed my skills at Citibank, BestBuy, and Aol.
At Citibank, I created prototypes, scripts, and conducted tests for three new applications for the Risk and Control Monitoring suite, a $2.5B project to increase the data quality of the taxonomies.
At BestBuy we ran a test on 30 people on the redesign and findability of the new taxonomy, and I created the prototype and the script, and moderated the usability test sessions.
At Aol I conducted a huge card sorting that influenced and drove the redesign of the Shopping taxonomy, which led to a $13M increase in sales.
I am a highly accomplished digital product designer, starting with eCommerce applications for Aol Shopping, where I created a tool for retail merchants to build their own shops on our site. I also specialize in internal fintech applications, bringing over a decade of expertise in designing complex systems that enhance enterprise functionality, regulatory compliance, and user clarity. My most recent role as Lead UX Architect for Citibank exemplifies my command of internal risk and controls platforms—where I drove the end-to-end experience design for risk management tools critical to institutional compliance.
With 15 years of Axure, and 3 years of Figma prototyping experience, I’m able to construct robust and complex prototypes, specializing in eCommerce and FinTech applications.
For Capital One, I created prototypes to test and support new features and flows that enabled the fraud department to streamline their workflows.
While working as Lead UX Architect at Citibank, I led the prototyping of complex internal risk and controls management systems, refining designs through multiple rounds of usability testing. At BestBuy.com and AOL, I developed interactive prototypes for taxonomy navigation and e-commerce storefronts, using them to conduct large-scale moderated user testing and drive alignment with stakeholders. My prototypes don’t just serve as development blueprints—they’re essential tools for validation, communication, and ensuring the final product is grounded in real user needs.
I have a strong foundation in user research, combining both qualitative and quantitative methods to deeply understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points across complex systems. In my role as Lead UX Architect at Citibank, I conducted multiple rounds of usability testing for internal risk and controls management applications, leveraging techniques such as surveys, contextual inquiries, personas, task flows, and journey mapping to inform design decisions. For the American Psychological Association, I led a user research initiative to evaluate the usability of their digital publication platform, focusing on how academics and students search for and access peer-reviewed articles. Using a mix of moderated usability testing, card sorting, and heuristic evaluation, I uncovered key insights that informed a redesign of the site’s navigation and search experience to better support users’ cognitive workflows. Whether leading moderated testing sessions, mapping out user workflows, or analyzing patterns in behavior, I prioritize research as a critical phase in the product design lifecycle.
My fintech expertise is rooted in years of designing secure, high-impact digital tools for some of the most prominent financial institutions, including Citibank, Capital One, and ING Direct. At Capital One, I led UX efforts for the IT Security and Fraud Customer Security verticals within the Capital One 360 web properties, where I developed responsive and adaptive design solutions tailored for complex, risk-sensitive environments. These projects required a detailed understanding of authentication flows, threat modeling, and user trust, especially in systems dealing with fraud detection and identity verification. I crafted user experiences that balanced stringent compliance requirements with streamlined usability, ensuring that interfaces supported both the end-user and the internal operations teams managing them.

My work often involves structuring, categorizing, and optimizing vast amounts of content and metadata to enhance searchability, user navigation, and system performance. I’ve also contributed to projects involving taxonomy-ontology tools like HP’s Taxonom SaaS platform, where I helped architect classification systems for records management. In my presentation “A Day in the Life of a Human: How Information Architecture Can Improve Our Daily Experience with AI,” I explored the critical intersection between human-centered design and artificial intelligence, using the lens of information architecture to reframe our everyday interactions with intelligent systems. I structured the talk around relatable, daily touchpoints—from morning routines managed by AI assistants to productivity tools and even therapy bots like Meeno—demonstrating how frameworks like LATCH (Location, Alphabet, Time, Category, Hierarchy) can improve navigation, usability, and trust in AI-driven environments. I emphasized the importance of well-organized data, mental modeling, and responsible design practices in guiding AI behavior, especially in sensitive areas such as personalization, content moderation, and transparency.The talk also addressed the ethical complexities of AI, including censorship, privacy violations, and the concept of "occurred harm," urging designers and architects to act as ombudsmen for innovation. I illustrated how information architecture plays a pivotal role in making AI more understandable, responsive, and aligned with human values—whether through user journeys, card sorting, or metadata structuring. By blending storytelling, systems thinking, and live examples of AI-generated content, I showed that while artificial intelligence is poised to radically reshape technology, it is thoughtful, human-centric architecture that ensures these systems empower rather than diminish us.
Data visualization is the challenging practice of transforming complex, often overwhelming datasets into clear, insightful visual formats that communicate meaning quickly and accurately. It requires not only technical skills in charting tools or spreadsheet software, but also a deep understanding of the data itself, the audience's mental models, and how visual perception shapes cognition. Striking the right balance between simplicity and depth—without distorting the truth—is what makes data visualization so difficult and so essential. I bring a strong background in data visualization, particularly within high-stakes enterprise and fintech environments.
